Shot blasting machine is a processing technology in which steel shot, steel grit, and stainless steel shot abrasives are shot and impacted on the surface of material at high speed through a shot blasting machine. Compared with other surface treatment technologies, it is faster, more effective, and can be partially retained or stamped in the casting process.
In the 1930s, an American company made the first shot blasting machine in the world. The production of shot blasting equipment in China began in the 1950s, mainly imitating the technology of the former Soviet Union.
Shot blasting machines can also be used to remove burrs, diaphragms and rust, which may affect the integrity, appearance, or definition of parts of the object. The shot blasting machine can also remove surface contaminants from a partially coated surface and provide a surface profile that increases the adhesion of the coating to achieve the purpose of strengthening the workpieces.
Shot blasting machine is different from shot peening machine in that it is used to reduce the fatigue life of parts, increase different surface stresses, increase the strength of parts, or prevent fretting.
