Cylinder liner is a single cylindrical part, divided into wet type and dry type. The thickness of wet cylinder liner is generally 5-7 mm, which is mostly used on diesel engines;

Dry cylinder liners generally have a wall thickness of 2 to 4 mm, which are mostly used in gasoline engines. The dry cylinder sleeve is in direct contact with the wall surface of the cylinder block, which has the advantage of an integral cylinder block.
After the wet cylinder liner is installed in the cylinder block, its outer wall directly contacts the cooling water, which has good heat dissipation, uniform cooling and easy processing. The disadvantage is that the strength and rigidity are not as good as dry cylinder liners, and water leakage is prone to occur.
When the geometric shape and size of the cylinder liner are worn out, cracks, severe strains, or water leakage in the wet cylinder liner water blocking ring, the cylinder liner needs to be removed and replaced.
There are no special technical requirements when disassembling the cylinder liner, so it is easy to pull it out with a cylinder pulling device. If there is no special tool, you can use a hand hammer to knock out the wooden block from the crankcase. The timing of the cylinder set has high technical requirements. Poor assembly will cause water and air leakage in the cylinder liner, which will affect the operation of the engine.
